We all have our highs and lows, and yesterday was one of my lows! I called the agency that is doing our Home Study to find out that even though they've had our paperwork for 2 weeks, they won't look at it until our fingerprint results come back from the FBI and CBI (Colorado Bureau of Investigation). So... I called the CBI to see what was taking so long. Afterall, we'd sent our fingerprints off on March 19th! So almost a month later, they gave me the heartbreaking news that it will take them about another 3 weeks until they get to ours! What?!?! (You can bet that I was ticked off at having to wait on the government.) Then they send them off to the FBI and I guess they have a 72 hour turnaround. So even after Matt and I worked so hard to get our autobiographies, background checks, physicals, blood work, etc, we have to wait at least 3 weeks on the CBI, and then another 2 weeks on the adoption agency before they will start our interviews. :( Our prayers are that it doesn't take as long as the lady from the CBI said.
We are hopeful that even though the Home Study is taking longer than planned, we will hear from the Adoption Agency in CA and be able to get started on all that paperwork to keep us from going crazy and doing *nothing*. Okay... to keep ME from going crazy! Matt's just fine.
Tomorrow I meet with the fertility Doctor that would perform the embryo transfer and Friday and Saturday Matt and I will be in Adoption classes. So we do have lots of things to look forward to! Thank you for all your love and support!!
